In Georgia ,
we have transitioned to the Common Core standards for math. Here are some
great FREE websites I've found that can be used to supplement student learning.
LearnZillion is a great site for teachers to use
for instruction or for reteaching. Once you get a free teacher account on
LearnZillion, you will have access to videos for all the standards. The
lessons are very clean and simple with a unified professional look to it.
Teachers can use these videos for the students who miss the instruction or need
reteaching. Here's
an example of a video.
Khan Academy is a great resource for students and I
like how there is a huge knowledge map that can show a student what areas they
have completed. Although it is not aligned to the Common Core standards,
many of the concepts are the same but maybe in a different order. This
would really be helpful to teachers to help students learn the concepts they
may have misconceptions or misunderstandings about. I really love their
video on the Khan Academy Vision for future learning.
