Document Cameras

I never knew how important a document camera can be for a teacher until I met my mentor.  My mentor teacher Mrs. Brennan showed me how she used hers and now I'm hooked.  I can't imagine teaching without a document camera ... but a good document camera is so expensive.  My mentor teacher uses a Elmo TT-12 and they cost $700-800. The cheapest Elmo document camera is about $400.

I looked on Amazon to see if I could find a more affordable alternative and found the Luna Interactive Projection Camera for under $130. I read the reviews and mostly they were positive. Then I watched some reviews.  Some were positive like this one. Others were negative like this one. I like the price but not how it has to be connect to a computer all the time.

Is there a good document camera that is more affordable but offers a computer free option?  Let me know if you find one!
